Gotcha! But not the way I thought we would.
Here's the story: Been fishing a small high country reservoir all week... scout camp first half of the week, then a Daddy/Daughter camp the second half. We caught easily over 100 fish but hadn't seen a fish over 14 inches all week but I knew there had to be some hogs in there. I fished hard to find one... Then, today I put my fly rod down to help a niece catch a fish on her worm set-up...I casted for her, stood beside her, watched the bobber take a dive, grabbed the pole and set the hook for her and I could tell we had a good fish on. She reeled and reeled but the $7 casting reel was having issues, so I took over... then I realized what we'd hooked into. I basically hand reeled this fish in, netted it, whooped and hollered, drew a crowd, took a few pics, released this big girl to fight another day. Quite a fish for this small reservoir. 20.5 inches. Funny that we got her on a worn... but c'mon, what fish doesn't love a worm? Now we'll go back even more motivated to get one #flyfishing
